If you liked the Porsche 918 Spyder Concept Car that was revealed at last year’s Geneva Motor Show, then you’re going to love this! The German supercar manufacturer has taken the wraps off a new race-inspired version of the car, dubbed the 918 RSR Hybrid.

The 918 RSR Hybrid uses a 555bhp tuned Porsche RS Spyder race car engine, but when you add its twin electric motors that produce an additional 201bhp, the RSR’s total power output rises to an incredible 756hp. The 918 RSR’s monocoque is made completely from carbon fibre-reinforced plastic and a flywheel accumulator collects and stores energy during braking to feed the electric motors.

Once the battery system is sufficiently charged, the driver can avail of a push-to-pass button feed that offers additional electric power at the touch of a button. Although Porsche hasn’t revealed plans to officially build the 918 RSR yet, we expect to see it out on track by early next year.
